The forthcoming rerelease of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen on Nintendo Switch is an odd one, as it'll be standalone and cost $20 for each version. This release gets stranger when you factor in that Japan is getting what appears to be an exclusive special edition with some appealing goodies.

The set comes with a download code for FireRed or LeafGreen, depending on which version you purchase. Pokemon Center Online lists the special edition with a price of 19,800 yen, which is a little over $127 USD.

"This perspective guides our decisions and helps us build franchises, teams, and strategies that endure for decades," he said.
