Last week, Wizards of the Coast announced Secret Lair x Monster Hunter, a new slate of limited-run cards coming to Magic: The Gathering in collaboration with Capcom, would go live on December 1. Today, the company has announced that due to fan reaction after the reveal, the planned sale will be delayed until 2026 for what WotC is calling a "rework."
The official Magic: The Gathering website announced the delay in a new blog post, confirming that the cards would not release on December 1, and instead would instead release "in a few months."
"Let's cut to the chase: the Secret Lair x Monster Hunter Superdrop we revealed last week fell short of expectations," the blog post reads. "We heard loud and clear that you were disappointed, and we believe we can do better. So, we're going to postpone this release and rework this Superdrop entirely."
